In this position, Computer tell Black is winning. But, if I make mistakes here, things will change. Now, to figure out what Black should play, lets try to figure out what White may want to do.
Assessment:
The King side attack of White is stopped by the pawn wall but this is a critical postion where the integrity of this wall is tested. Direct attack is on P@g6.
If Bxe7 Nxe7. This is simple. But, the even opponent knows that the attack is not strong. So, he will first improve the position. See, Nh4 move. Most likely this will happen as it improves the attack of white against P@g6.
We need to bring another defender for P@g6. One option I thought was Be2 > Bh5. But, that's 2 tempo. So, say Be2 Nh4 Bh5 Bxe7 Nxe7 Nxg6 Bxg6
Another option is Rh7 > Rg7. But this overloads N@g8 defending N@e7 & P@h6. If Bxe7 Kxe7 doesn't work because N@e7 is supposed to defend P@g6. So, say, Rh7 Nh4 Rg7 Bxe7 Nxe7 Nxg6 Nxg6 Qh3 Rh7
Now, another test was to check relative value and imbalance.
After these variations, I'd have a N@e7, R@h8 or g7, B@c4 or h5. Opponent will have his N@h4. Rest Position remains unhanged. (I know I have extra piece, and so I can just exchange everything)
But, I'd have a BN vs N minor pieces, unconnected rooks and a possible weakness at King Side. I'm comfortable.
But, I was looking at the problem as if trying to save the pawn instead of checking how the attack on the pawn would turn out. So, during the game, I tested if g5 fxg5 hxg5 Qxg5 (Nxg5) & in-between attack of Bxe7 Nxe7. And, with this, I had Queen on the King Side which was too weak, with a Knight. Now, here, I thought of prophylactic defense by putting king to safety before White penetrates, I'd defend King safety with o-o-o and if followed by Bxe7 Nx7 (Rooks will also be connected) but, this is not forced, so I re-calculated this line o-o-o Nh4 g5 hxg5 h5 Rh6 Qg5 Rd7 Bxe7 Rxe7. Which looks good good but it holds risk of g7 Ng6 penetration but I do have 2 tempo with me and I could increase pressure with Be7 & Q@a2. This is the most unsecured line. And, so, out of all other options I don't know why I chose this line?
Now, what actually happened in the game was o-o-o Nh4 g5 fxg5 h5 g6
Rh6 Qg5 Rd7 Bxe7 Rxe7
